The Environmental Health Bureau of the Carroll County Health Department has sponsored a Poster Contest since 1987.  It began in the Spring of each year as a promotion for "Earth Day" and has evolved to include other Environmental topics such as rabies and food safety.  The contest is open to all 4^th grade students in Carroll County.

Contest prizes are awarded as follows:

• Cash prizes to the schools of the 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place poster winners
• Gift cards and trophies to each 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place student winners
• Gift card to the teacher of the 1^st place student winner

The Carroll County Board of Realtors makes a generous donation to help make these prizes possible.

All 1^st place winning posters are framed and displayed in the Environmental Health hallway at the Carroll County Health Department, 290 South Center Street, Westminster, Maryland.  The Poster Contest Gallery on our website includes the 1^st place winning posters from 2006 and 2007.
