Residential treatment centers offer long-term care for children and adolescents who do not have acute psychiatric illnesses, but whose illnesses require care beyond available community resources. Clear documentation that community resources are not sufficient must be provided in order to arrange for placement. Anyone seeking admission of a young person to a residential treatment center should contact the Coordinator of Child and Adolescent Services to discuss the situation.

Carroll County does not have any residential treatment centers, so we must rely on beds in neighboring counties. Due to a shortage of beds, we may be required to seek admission to any facility in the State. The residential treatment centers that we most frequently use include:
